– not only to raise a wedding tent, but to bring an entire wedding weekend to life.
When V & H first sat down with me, their overall vision was partly defined. A timeless weekend celebration on their private family estate a few hours south of Stockholm.
Together with our trusted vendors and creative partners, we orchestrated a wedding weekend where every detail was carefully considered.
Day 1 – wedding day
– classic yet with a modern twist. Music, flowers, superb food and carefully selected wines were as important as the overall party vibe.
The actual set-up preparations began already a week beforehand, when the silhouette tent was built – its foundation secured and staircases and platforms seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape by the amazing team from Facio. By mid-week, I arrived on site early in the morning, together with my 6 colleagues. We started placing furniture, laying tablecloths, and assembling the larger elements.
Kitchen tent, toilet station, electric generator, cooling container, drink stations, bars, olive trees, lounge furnitures and of course the ceremony rehearsal – there are countless parts to coordinate and double-check.
The following day, the fantastic florist team from Bloem and lighting designer joined us. Our tasks shifted to fine-tuning the details: arranging place cards, folding napkins, ironing linens and the tent draping as well as ensuring the table scape matched the vision despite the inevitable on-site adjustments. (Parallell I had part of my team starting to prepare for day two – for example 40 table cloths had to be ironed – a task that required quite some time).
Planning a tent wedding from behind a desk is one thing; executing it in real life always brings surprises (may it be rain, flies, ants or power and water challenges) – and then, of course, there are the client’s last-minute wishes to consider. Every step takes time. Patience and a professional
”listening ear” is a must. When all details come together and we eventually can see the result – that brings such a joy – and I do remember over and over why I love my job so incredibly much.
Coordinating day two—a challenge of its own. A lunch with no end..in Sweden often referred to as a LUS (lunch utan slut).
Overnight, our mission was to transform the wedding tent into a French Riviera – inspired 70s beach club restaurant. Normally we would have spent two days for this set-up, but we didn’t have that.
As soon as the wedding couple and dinner guests danced into the party and bar venue, we began: swapping out all furnitures and table cloths, while the (again) incredible team from Facio constructed 2 large wooden pergolas and built a party scene with camo net and stages.
By early morning we had vacuumed the entire tent, installed 23 parasols, and re-styled the space with 2 new bars, Greek columns, grapes, wine coolers, and even a boutique stocked with bikinis, sunglasses, and t-shirts.
The tone & the weather couldn’t be better. The music was lively, the rosé perfectly chilled, and the Riviera Roaming Band and DJ Sylvain – all flown in from France – set the tone with unforgettable vibes.
This weekend will forever have a special place in our hearts!
